Kitchen was born out of the great times my mother, my
and I shared cooking outside on an open stove under a China Berry
tree in a small town in Alabama.
My mother and Aunt Laura experimenting teaching me how to cook as
I looked on.
Never measured a thing - a pinch here, a pinch there, a dash here,
a dash there. Their only confirmation as they prepared the collard
greens, the macaroni and cheese, and the “uhm what is this dish”
was a shake or nod of my head indicating a little more seasoning
or a little less seasoning.
